Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 goes high-end with new titanium finish - Wareable

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 went on sale last month, and now the Korean company has revealed that a luxury, costly, titanium version will be landing in October.

Priced at $599.99 – a $170 jump on the 45mm model currently on sale – the Galaxy Watch 3 Titanium will go head-to-head with the titanium Apple Watch Series 6, which starts at a punchy $799.

It also will launch against the Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro, which features a titanium case with a ceramic back, and is available for $299.99. You also get 14 days of quoted battery life, 100+ tracked sport profiles and two strap options in the box.

However, whereas the titanium Apple Watch can still be customized with different colors and finishes it's a one-option affair from Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 titanium edition

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 Titanium will, initially at least, only come in the one flavor – the 45mm Bluetooth-only version, in mystic black.

There's no titanium love yet for the smaller 41mm Galaxy Watch 3, nor the LTE model.

Samsung tells us that the Galaxy Watch Titanium "boasts all the craftsmanship of a high-end timepiece, built with premium materials and a stunning signature rotating bezel" and assures us it's "elegant and lightweight, yet built to last, with military-grade durability and water resistance."

Under the hood, and on the screen, it's exactly the same Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 that we awarded a Wareable Top Pick to in our comprehensive review.

ECG and blood pressure monitor are included, and Samsung has clearance for ECG from the FDA, which is pretty exciting... although there is a bit of a wait for the feature to go live.

Costing $599.99, Galaxy Watch 3 Titanium will be available starting 2 October, direct from Samsung and major retailers.
